A five-minute Rocket Launch phrase-play routine
Set aside a short, shared moment—about five minutes is plenty. Sit nearby, open Rocket Launch, and let your child choose what feels interesting. There is no need to ask for a repeat, a “right” answer, or a certain number of turns.
- Start together. Say, “Let’s play Rocket Launch.” If it feels welcome, model one big phrase such as “Ready, set, go!” and then pause.
- Offer the choices. Let your child tap a phrase, point, watch, or take a break. You can model the phrase that fits the moment: “Let’s go!”, “Go fast!”, “I want more!”, “Help!”, “Stop,” or “All done.”
- Follow their lead. When your child chooses a phrase, respond to the play: enjoy the rocket moment, repeat the phrase naturally if you want to, or wait quietly. Their participation can look different from one playtime to the next.
- Keep it light. Use the Voice and Quiet controls in the way that feels comfortable. Repeats are welcome; you can choose a different phrase, play again, or pause whenever it suits your child.
- Finish warmly. End when the moment feels complete. You might say, “All done, rocket,” or “We can play again another time.”
Rocket Launch is a small phrase-play activity for shared home practice and family play. It does not score speech, record voices, collect play information, provide medical care, or replace guidance from a qualified professional. If your family works with a speech-language professional, use their guidance first.
